Hi All - I'm back, but struck down with a travellers bug of disturbing proportions so I will write a more indepth post later.

The Poisson Rouge gig for Chris was fantastic & the artists that played were all incredibly sweet. Everyone was well looked after backstage with great food & beers. Ben Goldberg & the team at Ba Da Bing records did a superb job of looking after all the artists and organising a very successful event.

Of course the highlight was Jeff Mangum's performance which had, what felt like, the whole venue singing along with him! I've asked Hayden to put some clips of Jeff playing into the Knox Box for ya.

Thanks heaps to the NY blog readers who came up & introduced themselves - great to meet you guys & thanks again for reading!

Soon.

Its so strange to listen to these live videos youve put up,
it seems as if at any moment mister knox's singing will produce words, its to the point where you can swear hes made a statement here and there, i keep listening to somehow take something out of these new songs, all ive gotten so far is the idea that maybe the words leaving him for a time is a good thing, all there is to emote is raw power, pure condensed awesomeness, its almost like he doesnt need the words at all.

Lets disregard what makes us tick and act as if we're really thick and slow.

Glad you had a good trip, and I can't believe (re NYT account) how much the show made for Chris!

So... what's the latest? Last we heard it sounded like kind of a hard phase...

Hope you're better too!

Roy, it was great to meet you. As I got to tell you in person, I'm happy that you're posting updates and I read the blog regularly. The show was fantastic, though the highlight for me was David Kilgour backed by team Yo La. I caught James smiling the entire time, (they're just as big of fans as anyone.) And when David lets loose on the guitar... it's something to marvel at. Could only have been made better if Chris were there himself. All the best to him, and you.
